What?!  But isn’t that what a resume is supposed to do?  Well, actually, no resume will get you a job – and it was never meant to.  A resume’s purpose to attract a prospective employer’s attention to what you have to offer, so that a decision can be made whether or not to take the next step.  What’s the next step?  An interview!  That’s where you’ll have the opportunity to tell your story and “sell yourself.”  It is during the interview process that the actual hiring decision is made.  So, although the resume is important for getting your “foot in the door,” it won’t land you the job by itself!
